The aim of this 1 day Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) course is to ensure learners have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform the task of PAT testing. Our 1 day course is very popular, it is designed to save your business, time money and hassle.
We can either bring the course to you (on-site) or you can come to one of our venues around the UK. No matter which option you choose, you will get expert trainers, quality course materials and great after course support.
If you currently have PAT testing equipment, we will base the practical part of our PAT course on your PAT tester. If you do not have a PAT tester we can bring a variety with us to complete your PAT test training.

Is this PAT course right for me?

The TTS certificate of competence – In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment (PAT Testing) training course is available to be conducted over 1 day at your site or one of our training venues (local PAT testing courses) around the UK.
The course contains both theory and a big focus on practical PAT testing to allow candidates to be assessed as competent in PAT Testing.
We will cover:
- Hazards of electricity,
- Classification of appliances,
- Dangers and safety requirements,
- Regulation requirements,
- IET Code of Practice,
- Recording results
- Using a PAT Tester.
Our PAT competency course is suitable for all. We aim the course at the non-electrically trained. PAT testing requires basic electrical knowledge / training and being competent in knowing what is safe and what is not.
If you can wire a plug, you should be able to pass a PAT testing course (if you can’t wire a plug, you will be able to by then the end of the course!).
Our pass rate for this course is in excess of 95%.
This is a 1 day course typically run 9am -4pm. The course timings can be adjusted to suite your business needs.
To successfully complete our PAT Testing course you will need to pass a 30 question multiple choice test and a practical assessment.
This multiple choice exam is open-book.
