LEVEL 3 AWARD IN PRINCIPLES OF HEALTH AND SAFETY IN THE WORKPLACE (QCF)
This regulated qualification is intended principally for those who work in a supervisory or managerial role. Individuals gaining this qualification will gain a wide range of knowledge of health and safety law, the hazards present in a workplace and how to implement effective and necessary controls
This qualification is applicable to any private or public sector working environment. Individuals working towards this qualification will learn that supervisors and managers have legal and moral obligations to ensure health and safety within a business and that these include obligations to employees, contractors, suppliers and members of the public. They will also be able to take responsibility for ensuring the competency of the workforce and for identifying hazards, implementing controls and taking appropriate corrective action when necessary.
HOW IS THIS QUALIFICATION STRUCTURED?
This qualification is made up of one mandatory unit for which learners must successfully complete the assessment.
This is a 3 day course.
HOW IS THIS QUALIFICATION ASSESSED?
This qualification is assessed through a 2 hour, 60-question, multiple choice examination. Successful learners must answer at least 40 out of the 60 questions correctly. Learners answering 50 or more questions correctly will receive a Merit.

Anyone working in a supervisory or Management position.
WHY IS THIS TRAINING IMPORTANT?
Accidents and illness can result in disability, death or incapacity for work. The supervisor is in an ideal position to influence, monitor and train employees. They can also ensure that managers are informed, persuaded, encouraged or pressured into providing for better health and safety standards.

The HABC Level 3 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace (QCF) is accredited and recognised internationally and has been developed to protect customers, staff, brand reputation and profits.
Successful candidates will achieve:

It is assessed by a multiple-choice examination, where the candidate must answer at least 40 out of 60 questions correctly. A Merit is awarded to candidates scoring 50 or more. The examination will take a maximum of 2 hours to complete.
